The coffee table gamelan offers its users a chance to engage in a dialogue that goes beyond mere coffee talk. Each person has a series of tuned surfaces that act as a table tops and also instruments. The concept behind the work is conversation through proximity and exchange, but not necessarily with words. This performance was done prior to applying the finish.
